2013 Kearny Street Workshop (KSW)
Founded in 1972, during the height of the Asian American cultural movement, Kearny Street Workshop (KSW) is the oldest Asian Pacific American multidisciplinary arts organization in the country. Offering classes and workshops, salons, and student presentations, as well as professionally curated and produced exhibitions, performances, readings, and screenings, KSW makes artists out of community members and community members out of artists. For the past 43 years, KSW has nurtured creative spirit, offered an important platform for new voices to be heard, and connected artists with community. Their mission is to present, produce, and promote art that empowers Asian Pacific American artists and communities.
2012 Project by Project (PbP)
2012 marks the 15th anniversary for Project by Project nationally. To commemorate this momentous occasion, the theme and non-profit partner this year will be us – Project by Project. In 2012 we will focus on further branding ourselves as a significant player within the San Francisco non-profit community by raising money and awareness for PbP. We will reinforce the idea that PbP not only helps local Pan-Asian non-profits in need, but also motivates and mobilizes young professionals to serve this cause. Additionally, we will continue our service to the Pan-Asian community and our past partners of APA Family Support Services and OASES.
2011 Oakland Asian Student Education Services (OASES)
OASES was established in 1983 and empowers students from low-income households through education, mentorship, and service in order to strengthen the Oakland community. OASES has multiple programs that provide youth with opportunities not often offered at their schools including peer leadership, environmental education, diversity education, financial literacy, and the arts. All of OASES’ services are intended for students in Oakland’s Unified School District with limited resources from ethnically diverse backgrounds.
2010 APA Family Support Services (APA)
Founded in 1987, APA Family Support Services promotes healthy Asian/Pacific Islander children and families by providing family support services to prevent child abuse and domestic violence. APA accomplishes this through providing prevention, early/crisis intervention, and clinical treatment services.
