Beach Day!

1a43da10-b145-469c-9d94-b61beca70d6bThe PbP-LA Directors hosted a team bonfire at Dockweiler Beach in Playa Del Rey, where members of the Steering Committee had a chance to relax before Plate by Plate. The Steering Committee spent the cool evening making pigs in blankets and smores over the open fire and throwing it back to the college days by playing several rounds of Mafia. It was also a great opportunity for old and new members to come together and bond over food and games.

Plate by Plate Volunteer Training

Every year, the success of Plate by Plate is due in a large part to our Day of Volunteers, who dedicate their Saturday nights to helping us make our event run smoothly. The Events and Volunteer Teams hosted two training sessions at The Great Company and invited this year’s Day of Volunteers to attend to learn more about the volunteer experience at Plate by Plate. We are pleased to welcome 20 Day of Volunteers, some of whom are returning volunteers, to join our team! A huge thank you for everyone who attended, we look forward to working with you at Plate by Plate!

Volunteer of the Month: July

Tim Moon

Tim recently traded the cold winters of Chicago for the year-round sun of Los Angeles, and is looking forward to contributing to his new community through PbP. Currently, he is an attorney at Munger, Tolles & Olson, where his practice focuses on corporate transactions. In his first year in PbP, Tim ensured that our ticket purchasing system for Plate by Plate went smoothly and has made significant contributions to the Steering Committee and Operations Team. In his free time, he is trying to learn how to smoke meats, and also enjoys watching soccer and movies. Thanks for all your hard work, Tim!
