Gloria is currently the Director of Outreach for the San Francisco Chapter of Project by Project, a role responsible for selecting and managing the relationship with current and past campaign partners. She first joined the group on the events team in the middle of 2014, and then took on the role as Volunteer Director in 2015 to help the committee work to recruit, engage, and enrich the experience of all members of the team. She is excited that she’s been able to try so many different positions with the group!
Gloria graduated from MIT in 2011 with a B.S. in Management and a B.S. in Math with Computer Science. She currently works as a data analyst at LinkedIn. Throughout high school, college, and her post-school life, Gloria has stayed active with volunteering and event planning groups. On the community service side, Gloria worked over 300 hours for a councilman’s youth action team over the summers in high school, where she helped register people to vote, painted over graffiti, campaigned for energy saving awareness, participated in park clean ups, surveyed subway stations for safety hazards, and more. Gloria also performed regularly with her orchestra at nursing homes while she lived in New York City, volunteered at food banks during college, and now spends 2 hours every week at the SF SPCA with the dogs waiting for adoption. One of the most rewarding opportunities Gloria has participated in was traveling to Taiwan for a summer to teach English to middle school children from low-income families. In terms of event planning, Gloria served as social chair for multiple organizations during college and plans most of the trips she takes with her friends.
In her free time, Gloria can be found taking figure skating and dance classes, training for her next race, exploring different places and activities in the city, or planning her next travel adventures.
