Partner Announcement Dear PbP-LA Family, Friends, & Supporters,
Each year the local chapters of Project by Project (Los Angeles, San Francisco, & New York) come together to address the needs of the community by emphasizing issues on awareness, volunteerism, fundraising. Each chapter selects a non-profit community-based organization that focuses on the issues of the annual theme. The chapters then select a beneficiary partner and then tailors a year-long campaign to support the organization's fundraising, community outreach, and public awareness efforts.
PbP's theme for 2015 is affordable housing and providing shelter to those in need. Accordingly, non-profit organizations that champion or provide services with respect to our 2015 theme were invited to submit applications to become PbP-LA's 2015 beneficiary partner. It is with great pleasure that we introduce our beneficiary partner for 2015, the Center for the Pacific Asian Family.
Founded in 1978, the Center for the Pacific Asian Family (CPAF) is best recognized as a provider of services for Asian and Pacific Islander families who are victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in the LA County. What is less well-known is that CPAF provides housing and shelter for families made homeless by domestic and sexual violence. CPAF's housing efforts include, but are not limited to, an emergency shelter program and a transitional housing program for these survivors.
CPAF's outstanding work has greatly inspired us and we look forward to working to enhance their mission.
In the coming year, PbP-LA will work with CPAF to develop effective strategies and enhance their capacity to better serve both the short and long-term housing needs of domestic and sexual violence survivors and their families.
We look forward to what promises to be an exciting year!
Best, Project by Project, Los Angeles Steering Committee
