Beneficiary Partner Spotlight: Asian Pacific AIDS Intervention Team (APAIT) Sensitivity Training

April Meeting

During April’s Steering Committee Meeting, Daniel Nguyen and Jaden Fields from APAIT came in to conduct Sensitivity Training. At this training, they spoke about Gender Identity Terminology and touched upon the challenges the LGBTQ community still face. Did you know that 50% of the youth that live on the streets are LGBTQ, who must live without a home because their sexual orientation or gender identification? Or that 90% of transgender people have experienced discrimination at work? These are startling numbers, but there are easy ways to become allies for the LGBT community! Being mindful of your language as well as educating yourself on LGBTQ issues are simple ways to become an ally.  To learn more, please visit APAIT’s website!

APAIT & PbP Roundtable

At the end of March, APAIT welcomed Project by Project directors and Outreach team into their office to give an overview of what services their office provides and discussed their goals for the upcoming year. This year we will focus on assisting APAIT with their marketing and fundraising efforts as well as participate in several walks and volunteering at APAIT events. If you would like to participate in any of these activities, please contact the volunteer team at

Cathy Hong is the creative and talented Manager of Event Production on the Events Team and this is her third year involved with PbP. She currently works in the creative industry as a Product Designer and her love for volunteering and working with people began when she worked with a nonprofit focusing on art and therapy for abused and/or homeless children.
