Volunteers of the Month

Our first VOM is Tim Moon, Manager of Beverages from our Events Team. PbP-LA is proud to announce that due to the continuously outstanding accomplishment of our members, the months of July and August, saw not two, but FOUR Volunteers of the Month (VOM)!

July 2017

Tim is a second year member of PbP. Not only did he help secure and organize numerous outstanding beverage purveyors, he also demonstrated his willingness to go above and beyond during this year's Plate by Plate. When the vendors were running low on ice, he did not hesitate to step up to drive over to the nearest store to pick up bags upon bags of ice, while in a full suit! The James Bond of PbP!

Tim's advice? "Just, DO IT!"

Congratulations Tim!

Our second VOM is Kevin Hsu, Manager of Restaurant Relations.

Kevin has been with Project by Project for over seven years, and every year we owe Kevin our utmost gratitude for his outstanding dedication and passion in gathering leads, securing, and facilitating the many restaurants and vendors who attend Plate by Plate. Without Kevin, Plate by Plate, and Project by Project would not be the same. For that, we want to thank Kevin Hsu as volunteer of the month.

Thank you, and congratulations Kevin!

August 2017

Our first VOM is Kelly Kwan, from the Operations Team!

Kelly is a first year member of PbP, but has already made a tremendous impact on the Ops Team and the organization.

She is highly responsive to all communications, and most recently demonstrated her talent for web development when she made beautiful updates to our PbP Los Angeles website!

Her advice to anyone considering PbP?

"There's something for everyone and everyone is very supportive. If you're feeling out of place, just talk to someone about it. You're here to volunteer, but PbP is also here to help you develop leadership skills, and you make great connections and friends along the way."

Congratulations Kelly!

Our second VOM is Ruben Rodriguez, from the Operations Team.

Ruben has been recognized as both a source of positivity and enthusiasm among his team members, and the organization. When faced with a difficult decision or challenge, he takes charge and is always one of the first to volunteer his time and effort to get things done. For Plate by Plate Ruben volunteered his time, and his vehicle to transport many of the items that were handed out to the guests, and with very little notice.

What drove Ruben to get involved with the organization?

"My main drive being involved in PbP is assisting in a community that has been misrepresented in various fields including but not limited to politics, sociology, economy and especially entertainment. As a Mexican-American, I can relate to some of these struggles Asian-Americans have dealt over the years. The feeling of helping minority groups succeed and be on the same level playing field is a goal I intend to continue pursuing."

Congratulations Ruben!
