You’ll get unlimited food and drinks (from just one restaurant partner this year!), a casino night, a silent auction, lots of entertainment, bumpin’ music, and stations where you can learn more about our 2021 Campaign: Asian Americans & The Environment. We attended two safety awareness workshops hosted by Sokie Lee and went from unit to unit at 96 Baxter Street to pass out safety alarms, safety booklets, and food + drinks sponsored by Bullhead and Brooklyn Crafted. This event is created with the intended audience being the seniors and elderly living at 96 Baxter Street,.

We learned Krav Maga with YAYOS (@yayosmindset)

Krav Maga is a form of self-defense and physical training, first developed by the Israeli army in the 1940s, based on the use of reflexive responses to threatening situations. Learn Environmental Awareness Training (EAT) using fundamental Krav Maga techniques for effective street self-defense.

TAP-NY, PbP NY and coaches, Dr. Penelope Hsu and Farah Bala, hosted a night of connection and community!

In light of the recent AAPI attacks, celebrating our AAPI heritage month and caring for our mental health takes on a deeper resonance than ever before. This powerful, interactive virtual event helped us process and proceed through these challenging times as we share the power of connection and celebrate the strength of our community.

Dr. Penelope Hsu, a physician and leadership coach, and Farah Bala, a leadership and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) consultant and coach, led us through a 90 minute journey of healing and moving forward. Participants had opportunities to connect with each other, share experiences and reflections, and learn strategies to care for oneself and support each other.

Project LEAD (“Leaders Empowering Action Day”) is a one-day event where professionals from all different backgrounds and expertise brainstorm actionable and innovative solutions for nonprofits serving the NYC community. In true hackathon fashion, teams will work on solving and proposing solutions to various problem statements.
