Pro-Bono Consulting
Launched in 2018, Project by Project - Los Angeles (PbP-LA) launched two pro-bono consulting initiatives, CASES and Project LEAD, where we provide our skills-based volunteering to assist local non-profit organizations in crafting innovative solutions to address challenges faced in the Asian American communities.
CASES Team
Our team’s skills-based volunteer program CASES is a pro-bono consulting initiative that brings together cross-sector, multi-disciplinary young professionals to work on specific capacity-building projects with our Beneficiary Partners. We conduct a deep-dive on the nonprofits’ infrastructure and capacity to address organizational challenges. Examples of the project deliverables and the breadth of issues covered by PbP-LA volunteers for local community nonprofits in recent years include the following:
Pilipino Workers Center (PWC) - In 2020, our CASES team developed a digital marketing strategic playbook to help PWC create the most effective content on their social media, grow their membership base and improve its engagement with both members, and prospective members.
Center for the Pacific Asian Family (CPAF) - In 2019, our team developed a shared housing toolkit to help CPAF transition their clients from shelters to permanent housing.
OCA-GLA - In 2018, our team crafted a revenue growth strategy to support the sustainability of OCA-GLA’s Mentored Path to Citizenship Grant Program, which provides naturalization grants to assist qualified individuals in the L.A. County in applying for U.S. citizenship. The program also provides legal assistance to recipients through the naturalization process in partnership with Asian Americans Advancing Justice-LA (AAAJ-LA).
Asian Americans Advancing Justice-LA (AAAJ-LA) - In 2018, our team developed a business plan model for the AAAJ-LA’s Nail Salon Industry Reform Project.
Project LEAD
PbP Los Angeles hosted Project LEAD (Leaders Empowering Action Day), a one-day case study challenge, which aims to bring together multidisciplinary professionals, creatives and problem solvers for a day to work on issues facing the most vulnerable members of the local Asian American community.
2019 Project LEAD

Chinatown Community for Equitable Development (CCED) - Developed a high concept multi-platform media marketing campaign that CCED can develop to build more community awareness around evictions and gentrification to create momentum in CCED’s current campaign and projects.
