The effects of COVID-19 have been felt throughout the world - impacting our health, our economy, the work of our fellow nonprofits, and the safety of our Asian American and Pacific Islander community. This pandemic does not discriminate and knows no borders - and that is why we at Project by Project have taken it upon ourselves to provide useful information to help us manage this crisis together. In the spirit of our chosen theme of Civic & Political Empowerment for this year, we aim to unite the community in:
Staying safe and healthy
Supporting our friends in affected industries like food, beverages and other services
Being aware and engaged with current legislation and philanthropy related to COVID-19, and
Combating any mischaracterization, scapegoating, and anti-Asian sentiments spewed towards us.
Asian Americans are impacted by COVID-19 just like all of America, and we - both PbP and our broader community - are united in the global efforts to defeat it. Please continue to check this page as we update it with the most current information and resources related to this crisis.
Nationwide Resources & Current State of Affairs:
As of March 2020, nearly two dozen states and the Navajo Nation have issued guidance and/or mandates to shelter in place, and have advised citizens to maintain proper social distancing. While ordinances vary across cities and states, generally this means staying at home for all but essential activities (groceries, picking up medication) and limiting social interaction, staying at least six feet apart from other individuals. Please check to confirm additional guidance specific to your location.
