Plate by Plate Los Angeles 2019 Takes a Bite at Homelessness

Project by Project – Los Angeles (PbP-LA) is pleased to present our 22nd annual tasting benefit, Plate by Plate, at Hotel Indigo in Downtown Los Angeles. This year, PbP-LA is collaborating with our 2019 beneficiary partner, the Center for the Pacific Asian Family (CPAF), to raise awareness for an issue that affects the Asian American and Pacific islander (API) community. Our signature event will curate culinary tastings from the city's top restaurants and libation purveyors. Admission to our elevated dining experience will include unlimited tastings from the city’s best restaurants and refreshing sips of cocktails in the spirit of philanthropy.   • Theme - Our charity gala will highlight and assist the important work being done by our community on the issue of homelessness in our community. The theme for Plate by Plate - Los Angeles this year is H.O.M.E.: Housing Opportunities Meant for Everyone. With domestic violence as a main drivers of homelessness, our partner CPAF provides survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault with emergency and transitional shelters and permanent housing as well as API language and cultural support services. To help alleviate homelessness in our API community, all ticket sales will be donated to CPAF to help fund transitional housing shelters for homeless victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. 

  • Lineup - Plate by Plate will curate a premier lineup gathering the diversity of flavors in Los Angeles to bring you over 40 of the city’s finest restaurants and beverage purveyors. Returning participants will include Otium, Petty Cash, Broken Spanish, Patina, Metropole Bar and Kitchen, Faith and Flower, Hinoki & the Bird, Umi by Hamasaku, Preux and Proper, Rappahannock Oyster Bar, Restauration, Kazunori, Joy, Raymond 1886, Starry Kitchen, Sake Dojo, and B Sweet.

    For VIP ticket holders, a rare omakase menu will be the special course of the night as Chef Phillip Frankland showcases his take of luxurious delicacies from his speakeasy Sushi | Bar. VIP ticket holders will also enjoy innovative twists on a multi-course menu from the culinary team at Metropole Bar and Kitchen. For libations, the barkeep team from Raymond 1886 will bring VIPs back to the pre-Prohibition Era with their historic repertoire of house cocktails.

    Plate by Plate is also thrilled to bring new participants to our diverse collection of chefs and bars: Tar and Roses, Pikoh, Bone Kettle, Wood and Wine, Paley, Mister O’s, H. Cafe, Salazar, Bopomofo Cafe, and Cafe Dulce. Follow us on social media as we reveal more participating eateries in the upcoming weeks.

  • Philanthropy - Attendees can meet change-makers, activities, and aspiring philanthropists on this night of philanthropy. Our walk-around fundraiser event will feature a new homelessness exhibition series, including a virtual reality experience. In the spirit of giving, participants will have a chance to win exclusive experiences and vacations at the popular Silent Auction – including an 18-course culinary excursion at the Silver Bough in Santa Barbara. All net proceeds will be donated to CPAF to help fund critical services and emergency food for homeless families affected by domestic violence and sexual assault.

Plate by Plate - Los Angeles will be held at Hotel Indigo, located at 899 Francisco St, Los Angeles, CA 90017. The event will take place on Saturday, August 3, 2019 from 7:00PM until 10:00PM, and VIP ticket holders will be given an exclusive one-hour early entry at 6:00PM. All attendees are invited to our After Party at 18 Social, the penthouse cocktail lounge at the Hotel Indigo.

VIP Admission ($250.00/person): VIP tickets will also include one-hour early entry to the event at 6:00PM, access to an exclusive VIP Menu (with two exclusive seated tasting experiences), access to the VIP lounge to mingle and mix with other VIP guests, and a special VIP gift bag. Early bird VIP tickets are available at a discounted price at $225.00 per person. 

General Admission ($150.00/ person): GA tickets will include access to over 30 premier restaurants and beverage purveyors at 7:00PM, the Plate By Plate Photobooth, Silent Auction, and our After Party. Early bird GA tickets are available at a discounted price at $115.00 per person. 

Early Bird tickets are available in limited quantity. All attendees must be 21 years of age or older with valid photo identification. Dress code is black tie or formal attire.
