Project by Project LA Continues To Support Past Partner East West Players
On Thursday, February 19, Project by Project LA's Outreach team hosted the organization's first Outreach event of 2015 by hosting a pre-show reception and theater event with PbP's past beneficiary partner, East West Players (EWP).
EWP was PbP's community beneficiary partner in 2013. It is the nation’s premier Asian American theater organization, and produces artistic works and educational programs that foster dialogue exploring Asian Pacific experiences. The theater is currently showing Washer/Dryer which is about a married couple whose marriage is tested by family, neighbors, and a tiny studio apartment in Manhattan.
Sixteen people consisting of PbP Steering Committee members and friends gathered for a pre-show mixer in a private room at Little Tokyo's Far Bar, where introductions and an overview of the PbP's goals and mission took place.
Prior to showtime, Tim Dang, the Producing Artistic Direct of EWP, graciously spent time speaking to the group about the impact of EWP in Los Angeles and the changing climate for Asian Pacific actors in America.
Project by Project graciously thanks Tim Dang, George Yin, Julie Yu, and Michael Lumunsad for all their hard work in organizing this fantastic event!
