PbP SF: Welcoming 2022
Project by Project SF welcomes you back to another amazing year of philanthropy and volunteering! 2022 is off to a great start, and we’re spending time getting to know our fellow Steering Committee members. Here’s a recap of what we’ve been doing.
We are excited to announce that our Steering Committee recruitment ended early this March, and our official roster is full! Our Operations team even gave our website page an upgrade!
February
PbP SF kicked off the 2022 year with our first in-person meet-up, bringing new and returning members together for an afternoon of food, drinks and community bonding at Spark Social. As foodies, we love going to Spark Social so we can support local small businesses while trying bites from all the food trucks! With the event being dog-friendly, some PbP pups also made the invite!
March
We kicked off the year with our first Steering Committee meeting in March with one of our largest Steering Committee teams. The following weekend, we organized our first volunteer event of the year with our 2021 beneficiary partner, Florence Fang Community Farms, helping to clear gardening areas to plant more produce for the farm.
March continued to be a busy month for our chapter. Some SF members headed down to Los Angeles to support our sister chapter for their 2021 Plate by Plate. After being canceled due to the pandemic in 2021, it was great to see the return of Plate by Plate at Union Station in support of Little Tokyo. We even met a few members from our sister chapter in New York! Congratulations LA for hosting this iconic event!
During the same weekend, A24 hosted their San Francisco screening of their new movie Everything, Everywhere All At Once at the Castro theater, and PbP was given tickets to attend. The tickets also included an exclusive post-movie Q&A with stars Michelle Yeoh, Stephanie Hsu, Ke Huy Quan and directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert! Thank you A24 for giving us this incredible, once in a lifetime opportunity!
Finally, to close out the month, we hosted our annual Steering Committee Retreat in Pescadero, just south of Half Moon Bay. While short, our Team & Leadership team was able to incorporate a number of topics to share about PbP’s history and impact while guiding members to understand how our AAPI identities impact how we show up in our daily lives. It was a successful retreat, with some returning members saying that this was the best retreat that they attended since joining in prior years. PbP SF is ready to bring our continued support to the Bay Area community! Check in with our blog, as well as our Instagram @pbpsf to see what we’re up to!
